Profile Summary

Asish Thomas Punnose is a Solution Architect in Microsoft Azure, Office 365, AWS, Xamarin, Angular, SharePoint and Microsoft Dynamics 365 with 19+ years of IT experience. He currently works with the South Australian Government for PIRSA (Primary Industries and Regions SA) where he plays a key role in Strategic Decision Making in regard to all IT Solutions. Previously he was working as Solution Architect for Velrada & Logi-Tech (Australia) and Technical Lead at Royal Dutch Shell, Netherlands. He has also worked for Hewlett Packard, Microsoft Corporation (Ireland), Avanade (joint venture of Microsoft and Accenture), TVS InfoTech (Netherlands), Tata Consultancy Services and Microsoft (India).


His main responsibilities include providing vision, leadership, analysis and design expertise for the development, maintenance and governance of the current and future state application architecture and other business strategies. In addition to having a strong track record of architecture design, he also has hands-on development experience with AWS, Google and Microsoft Stack.


Asish builds partnerships with business and ICT representatives to design an application architecture in alignment with business goals, developed in line with application architecture frameworks, quality standards and procedures. He also defines steps and strategies to transition from the current to future application architecture and maintains collaborative links with similar roles in other government departments.


Technology being Asish’s passion, his area of expertise also includes deep understanding of Cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS with infrastructure designing knowledge on Microsoft Azure, Office 365, GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and AWS (Amazon Webservices).


A sort after technical architect, Asish also takes time to mentor his team mates, especially in regard to the latest technological developments within Microsoft technologies. He currently leads and takes regular sessions within the PIRSA technical forum.


Asish is an engineer, with a Master’s degree in Information Technology with excellent communication, stakeholder management, offshore and project management skills.
